Abstract

Long term cooperation among import-export firms and logistics service providers is still challenging these days. The stability of the B2B relationship significantly depends on fitted expectation in the organizational level. If real results do not fit to original commitments, expectation disconfirmation springs. This study investigates the impact of the expectation disconfirmation on cooperative intentions. Based on Expectation-Confirmation Theory, the research model examines the direct influence of the expectation disconfirmation alongside the parallel mediating roles of the satisfaction and perceived relational risk. Data were collected from 200 import-export firms operating in the North of Vietnam using online questionnaires. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to test the research hypotheses. The findings reveal that positive expectation disconfirmation enhances the satisfaction and reduces perceived relational risk, thereby strengthening long-term cooperative intentions. This study provides empirical evidence of cooperative behaviour mechanism of import- export firms, which helps Vietnamese logistics companies build effective collaboration strategies.

Keywords: logistics, expectation disconfirmation, satisfaction, relational risk, cooperative intentions.
