Abstract
Blockchain technology applications are offering significant benefits to a variety of industries, including shipping and logistics industry. Despite the fact that top shipping firms have explored and developed utilizes this technology, its popularity remains modest. The goal of this research is to investigate the pressures that organizations face in the shipping and logistics sector in order to identify the obstacles and conditions that support the adoption of blockchain technology. The study employs quantitative research methodology, including a survey sample of 578 managers from shipping and logistics companies. The findings indicate that there are four pressures impacting the deployment of blockchain technology applications: regulatory pressure, competitive pressure, customer pressure, stakeholder pressure. This study provides significant contributions to both theory and management.
