Abstract
It has been observed that the electric power steering system (EPS) is being used to replace the traditional hydraulic steering assist system in today's cars (HPS). The power steering, in order to create a good driving sensation and ensure safety, must be simultaneously compatible with the vehicle speed and torque on the steering wheel. Based on the working principle and the structural analysis of the electric power system, a EPS design with the control algorithm used PID to meet the torque requirements on the steering wheel in different operating conditions of vehicle was given in this article. The EPS model was built and the driving feeling of vehicle when moving at different speeds and road conditions was evaluated.
