Abstract

The article presents the working principle, calculation basis, experimental design of a thermal battery using phase change material (PCM) to store energy and test the model with the equipment available in the laboratory. The thermal battery designed with a volume of 36 liters can store 6865 (kJ) with a capacity of 0.2kW which’s equivalent to a 2.1 times larger volume of heat storage tank using water as stored material under the same working conditions.
