Abstract
This study applies the point estimate method to reliability analyses of truss structures. The point estimate method is an approximate approach that helps reduce computation time and effort compared to Monte Carlo simulations. The reliability analyses of two truss structures relating to the tension behavior of members and deformation are implemented. This study reveals that the point estimate method can be a good choice for reliability analyses of truss structures thanks to its simplicity, well-compared results with Monte Carlo simulations, and facile computation effort.
