Abstract

This study investigates the impact of green supply chain practices in FMCG enterprises on the actual purchasing decisions of young consumers in Hai Phong, while examining the moderating role of situational factors. By utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data from 239 consumers aged 16-30, several key findings emerge. First, environmental attitudes do not directly influence purchase intention. Second, green trust and purchase intention act as key mediators. Third, price and product convenience/availability do not exhibit significant moderating effects that could delay the transition from purchase intention to actual purchase decision. These findings provide empirical evidence on the psychology of green consumption among Hai Phong’s youth and offer strategic implications for FMCG enterprises in designing products and communication approaches that foster sustainable consumer behavior in line with the city’s development orientation.

Keywords: Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), green supply chain management (GSCM), purchase decision, young consumers, moderating factors.
