Abstract
This study aims to determine technical efficiency of Vietnamese electronics, computer and optical equipment firms, as well as to analyze the factors affecting the technical efficiency of this industry in the period 2012-2016. The estimated results from stochastic varying coefficients model and Tobit regression model show that: (1) There is almost no difference in labor use efficienncy, however there is a big difference in the efficiency of capital use among firms; (2) The average technical efficiency of firms is 46.9%; (3) Group of factors related to business environment institution that positively affects the technical efficiency of firms.
