Abstract

Our army is equipped with a number of chained armored vehicles such as infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1, BMP-2, M-113,... In the process of exploitation and use, the technical condition of the equipment has deteriorated, and technical assurance has encountered many difficulties due to the scarcity of spare parts. Therefore, the research and production of equivalent materials or systems for replacement is an urgent need. This article focuses on presenting a plan to replace the original УТД-20 engine on the BMP-1 with a new, commercially available engine, specifically the DOOSAN DL-08 engine. The main content includes: structural solution to install a new engine, calculation and re-testing of the engine replacement plan.
