Abstract
This paper presents the results of numerical prediction of propeller characteristics (thrust coefficient KT, toque coefficient KQ, and propeller efficiency η0) in open water condition by using CFD method. Moving reference frame method is used to model propeller rotation. The effect of mesh density on numerical results are analyzed. The simulation results are compared with the experimental results to confirm the reliability of the calculation results. In addition, the article also provided the images of the pressure distribution on the propeller blades surface, the flow around propeller at different advance coefficient of the propeller, which will be the sources for solving different problems in propeller design.
