Abstract
In recent years, incidents related to collisions at Vietnamese seaports in general and Hai Phong seaport area have occurred more and more frequently. Although it has not caused major human or environmental damage, risk prevention and response work has revealed many weaknesses, especially collision risks at berths. The purpose of this study is to propose a collision control sensor system at Tan Cang Hai Phong international container terminal (TC-HICT). The model applies 2D Lidar technology along with processing blocks for data collection and analysis when ships dock, giving warning signals with lights and sounds. The research results have important implications for ship operators and contribute significantly to the safety management of berths, helping to provide visual images for monitoring, navigation and determining safe locations for ships entering and leaving ports.
