Abstract

This paper presents the simulation results of ship resistance and flow around the hull of the ship at different ship speeds in calm water condition by CFD method. The effect of ship speed on ship resistance, wave pattern and wave profile along the ship, distribution of wall shear stress and dynamic pressure on the hull surface, nominal wake field, transom wetted surface area are presented and analyzed in the paper. The obtained numerical results are compared with the measured data to verify the reliability of the simulation results.
