Abstract
Noise is one of the most important factors that is interested by car manufacturers due to it’s effect on the comfort of passengers and the surrounding environment. This research focuses on the effects of noise that is produced during the movement of cars. We examine the interaction problem between the flow through a object and the phenomenon of generating and propagating sound waves in the air. Simulation calculations are performed by Siemens-StarCCM+ software for MERCEDES BENZ S-CLASS 2013 models. The obtained simulation results allow to assess the noise level in the vehicle at high speeds. The results of the velocity and pressure fields are used to explain for the noise source. According to the results, we offer several solutions to reduce the aerodynamic noise.
