Abstract
In the digital age, seaports are facing stiff competition. Therefore, smart ports applying digital technologies have become the strategic direction of many seaports in the world to improve the efficiency of port operations while minimizing the impact on the environment. However, studies on the criteria affecting the decision to develop smart ports are limited, especially for seaports in developing countries. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the influencing factors on the decision to apply digital technology towards smart seaports applying Delphi method based on the empirical study of container terminals in Hai Phong. Accordingly, five criteria were identified including cost, reliability and safety, effectiveness and efficiency, ease of application and influence from external factors.
