Abstract
Determining the possibility of ship collision at sea is an important content in maritime management and safety. The assessment for ship collision by algorithmics is the basis of an incident detection and prevention system, which is a focus ofship navigation technology. The automatic identification system (AIS) has been used since its inception to assist with navigation, route estimation, collision prediction, and unusual traffic detection. This paper examines the key elements of ship collision, developing a mathematical model to assess the ability and simulating ship collision assessment based on AIS information, thereby issuing warnings for the crew to prevent collisions.
