Abstract
This article will discuss the factors causing gear damages and the weld overlay technology to repair gear surface damage. This work was carried out in three different welding parameters with the change of welding current, and then calculate the heat source parameters such as heat input, peak temperature, and cooling rate. The main purpose is to study the relationship between the heat input and the formation of weld shapes, microstructure and mechanical properties in the weld overlay process.
