Abstract
The world is changing strongly according to digital technology, e-navigation is the foundation for the development of the shipping industry to move in this trend. In 2006, the International Maritime Organization began to develop the concept of e-navigation: "The harmonized collection, integration, exchange, presentation and analysis of marine information on board and ashore by electronic means to enhance berth to berth navigation and related services for safety and security at sea and protection of the marine environment"[1]. Over the past 15 years, we have been seeing throught the important activities in e-navigation, especially in economics, chain supply and environmental directions. The trends in e-navigation are also affected by various factors such as new technologies, climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, cyber risks and the role of automation. This article will shed light on the benefits of e-navigation, while also analyzing the development trends in e-navigation in the future.
