Abstract
Cathodic protection is widely used to protect metals from corrosion in seawater. The article will calculate the installation, replacement and operating costs of cathodic protection methods for some ships. The calculation results showed that ships with a gross tonnage greater than 6000 DWT will have a lower cost of protecting the hull from corrosion when installing an ICCP system after a some years of service. The research results of the article can be used as a basis for choosing a method to protect the shiphull from corrosion at a lower cost for ships based on the ship's tonnage.
