Abstract

This study investigated the effects of limestone powder and natural Pozzolan as partial aggregate replacement on the compressive strength and Chloride (Cl-) impermeability of concretes caused by the attack of an aggressive chemical solution composed of ion Cl- such as sea water invasion. The results showed that the utilization of natural Pozzolan can improve the compressive strength and chloride resistance of concrete. The addition of limestone powder can result in insignificant effect on the compressive strength, however, considerably improve the chloride resistance of concrete.
