Abstract
Shipping companies drive digitization for the future of the maritime industry and their strategy-setting efforts are already underway. Considering those visions and strategies in relation to digitization will be beneficial to better understand the path the maritime industry is headed. This study aims to identify the characteristics of the future planning group through a qualitative assessment and specifically focuses on the main maritime trade actors, based on the relevant action plans of the companies. shipping companies were collected online. The outstanding result of this study is that major shipping companies have applied digitization to increase cost efficiency, improve competitiveness and meet customer needs.
