Abstract

Stability analysis of the slope of the berth is a very important content in the port designing works. At present, limit equilibrium method (LEM) has been included in the standards. However, the effect of anti-sliding piles is not considered as the calculation of anti-sliding force of piles is quite complicated and cannot be automated when considering the effect of piles. This paper presents the finite element analysis of the stability of the slope of the berth using the Phi-c reduction method with the advantage of being able to take into account the anti-sliding piles and high degree of automation that can replace the traditional method. Numerical model is conducted using Plaxis 2D. Results are validated by comparing with the results obtained by using LEM.
