Abstract
In this article, the author proposes a concise ERY method to compensate the deviation of marine magnetic compass by combinating the traditional ERY method and a calculating technique of deviation components. Compared to the traditional ERY method, this proposed method requires only to maneouver the ship in three directions instead of six ones to conduct marine magnetic compass adjustment. Thus, the procedures for manetic compass adjustment are reduced significantly. This study can be seen as a useful reference in deverloping more effective methods for marine magnetic compass adjustment.
